screencast
On this page I have chosen to spotlight a Screencast that I created to introduce GoNoodle. GoNoodle is a fun, interactive way to get the students moving. It can take as little as 1 minute or as long as 20 minutes, depending on your needs. GoNoodle is a resource that I feel all students should have access to so I created this screencast for my colleagues to implement in their classroom.
This screencast introduces how to setup a GoNoodle account, create a class, and how to choose an appropriate activity for your students. I created this screencast at screencastomatic.com. The screencast is a great visual way to introduce a new resource to colleagues. You can record your own voice and use your mouse to navigate through the website that you are introducing. The first 15 minutes of recordings are free so I made sure that my screencast did not go over that allotted time. For teachers that are not familiar with a website, this is an excellent tool to teach them. This tool could also be used for parents or students to show directions on navigating a classroom or educational website to be used at home.
I specifically used screencast for GoNoodle because I feel that students need a brain break at least once throughout a normal school day. Finding time to allow movement, outside of recess, is difficult with our crammed schedules. Using GoNoodle allows the students to move to songs and dances that they're familiar with. GoNoodle also sets parameters for the students because you can choose an activity in a certain length of time that works for the moment you need it. Lastly, GoNoodle is also great to enforce positive behavior by using it as an incentive for the students.
